Here Within Creation

I live in a body constructed from tiny, tiny miracles 
called atoms and molecules
that gather together in their community 
to create somewhat larger miracles called cells; 
and the cells gather themselves together 
in conversation through organs, 
and the organs collect themselves together
and I dwell within that community of organs, 
which is a community of cells 
and a community of molecules and atoms. 

And the atoms are a community of quanta. 
In this way, the whole community is created 
through the medium of an energy which is present here, now, 
as I sense myself. 

And I sense myself from the bottom of my feet 
upwards through every atom and molecule and cell and organ, 
up through the legs and the thighs,
the buttocks, my solar plexus and my torso. 

And I sense the hands, 
extraordinary organs that serve me so well in ordinary life. 
And I sense the arms and the shoulders and the spine. 

And I sense the heart. 

I sense the mouth and the tongue and the face. 
I sense the brain and the top of my head. 
And in this way, gently, and in a very brief period of time, 
I come to sense the whole of myself, 
not just as a body, 
but as a creature of a very fine energy
that penetrates everything 
and supports its existence through vibration. 

This energy is of such a fine quality 
that to call it divine would not be going too far. 
It is of such a fine quality 
that to use words to say anything about it is always insufficient 
and yet here it is,
everything in this universe arising from this fine energy 
which is no idea or hypothesis but a fact.

The fact is that I am here now within this energy— 
as I breathe the air and as the wind blows, 
as the chimes ring and the birds sing—
I am here within this energy of life and goodness. 

And it is a whole thing that blossoms forth into being, 
which calls me to be in community with it.
 
I don't understand any of this

I simply know that I am here within sensation 
and that it embraces me 
and carries me forward into this life and being 
with one simple request:

That I remember to carry love forth from within myself into being 
that I not forget myself 
in the petty selfishness of my own opinions and attitudes 
but that I reciprocally embrace this great love of being 
that has been granted to me 
and that I remember to stay in connection 
with this sensation 
and bring it forth into life 
with all the love and goodness 
that it promises from the moment
it arrives here within creation.
