I do not so often hear it, but my life calls me into life, singing to me, come, be with me here. Be with me now. And as I awaken in the morning, I am called to the dawn to be within this body and to rejoice. For the day is already good before I reach it. The sky already has light in it, from a sun that shines perpetually on all things, never knowing night itself, for it always gives its light, even if I am turned away from it for a while. And as life calls me back into life here and now, I relax and sense my cells and molecules, intending to become more receptive of the fine substance of that light that moves through all things to penetrate me more deeply, to receive life more deeply here. Now, in this body, every molecule of this body. The more deeply I receive the impressions of my life, the closer I get to the substance which is deposited there, over the course of a lifetime growing a new organ in me, which has a wish to give thanks. And now I gently touch that wish, reciprocally, in the same way that it gently touches me. And together, we ask ourselves the question, how can we give thanks more deeply for this life? It is unknown. And yet the very act of attention within life is a prayer of thanks. And so I begin to see in every cell that if I offer my attention, I am offering thanks for the great glory of life and being that arise here and now in every creature under the sun. I cannot be here forever. It is important while I am here to maintain a thread of contact with this marrow within me, in my bones, that remembers it is right to render thanks and praise for what is given in this life is very good indeed.
