Today is the summer solstice; and marks a return to the image of Flaubert on the path in Maine… one of my favorites. As I return to the wholeness of this body, the undivided nature of sensation which has no shape or form but exactly conforms to the contours of life and being— As I return to the wholeness of this natural force of being, I realize the way in which I am a visitor to life and an inhabitant of its landscape as though it were a foreign and unknown land that welcomes me into the arms of its truth.
Your words remind me of one of my many favorite sentences: strangers and sojourners we are. ( Leviticus 25:23.) Thank you!
