Into the unknown

I am here in my body once again, 
As always, 
Searching for the root of awareness
And the beginning of life itself 
Here within being.

The finer vibrations,
The magnetism of what draws me together here and now 
Are alive throughout the entire body.

A cosmological glue that holds my being, 
My body, 
My attention, 
My awareness.

Everything that I am 
Bound together here in this moment 
By the power of the atoms and molecules in my body 
And by the power of the soul itself.

The soul and matter meet here within me now.

They are in a deep contact with one another, 
Much deeper than I usually sense.

And here,
At this depth,
Where there is almost nothing but sensation and being,
I come face to face with the mystery of nothing
That emerges whole into this world 

In the consciousness of my soul,

In the consciousness of life,

Here and now.

In here and now, 
I am whole and preparing to gather myself,
To be ready to go out and meet life 
With all its great and its small difficulties
In the certain knowledge 
That the faith that emerges 
From not knowing anything 
Will carry me forward with the strength I need 
To meet the mystery.

I don't even understand how any of this works.
And yet life is generous enough to guide me forward into it and through it 
With one truth after another.

As though to say, here I am.

We are here together.

I am you and you are me.

Let us put our hands together and go forth into the darkness 
With the certain knowledge that love can carry us 
From moment to moment across the waters
To a new and different land.

And so does life speak to me 
And to you 
And to all of us 
To prepare from here 
To make the crossing into the unknown.
