I recognize the fact
that as I begin here and now to remember my being,
that it is an intimate act
that begins very deep in the sensation of the body,
a place that I cannot travel towards or go down to.

It is, in fact, the original place that I already inhabit
and must emerge from,
for my sensation is not what I reach for or construct or imagine.
It is the place where I live,
which I need to learn to study in much more detail.

I do not study sensation clinically,
as a logician or a philosopher or a scientist.
I am here to learn about it as an intimate
and a friend, and even a lover.

For this deep-rooted sensation of the body
is not just the root of life,
which has planted itself so deep into the planet
that it cannot be reached or touched by men.
It is the root of love flowing into goodness.

And I am a part of the growth of that single creature
which forms the entire planet. And even as I hear these words emerging in me from the depths of being, a sense of feeling gratitude penetrates every cell in the body with that love. For it is a great force, so great I cannot understand it.
